Johnson, Fitness / Speed / Agility / Quickness Instructor
Tricia Johnson is a fitness instructor at SportsCity with expertise
as a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Conditioning coach as well
as coaching softball. In addition to strength training, Tricia also
focus on Speed/Agility/Quickness (SAQ) training.
specialized training allows athletes to train their bodies within the
demands placed on them by their individual sports. SAQ training
disciplines the body to maintain balance and control while learning
how to effectively accelerate, decelerate and change direction
quickly. This type of training is an important key to developing well
rounded athletes as well as preventing injuries.
It is my
belief that any advanced training undertaken by athletes should be
sport specific. Different sports require different types of training,
from power to agility to reaction time. Not only should the training
be varied according to sport, but the time of year in which that
training occurs should be specific as well. I train each sport
according to the needs of each given sport and within its specific
seasons (Pre-season, In-season, Off-season).
